My Intentionality Commitment

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a long post titled: “One Year In: What I Learned After Quitting My Job to Build an Online Business.” It covered what I learned over the past year, where I am now, and where I want to go.

That post was broad by design. It didn’t spell out exactly how I plan to move forward. That’s what this post is for.

Today is August 17th, 2025.

This is my one and only goal for the rest of the year, built using a Goal Tracking Worksheet inspired by Brian Tracy’s principles.

Goal-Setting Worksheet

1. Goal Statement

👉 My goal is to grow my email marketing business to $30,000 MRR by December 31st, 2025.

2. Specific & Measurable

👉 I will know I achieved this when my business generates predictable recurring monthly revenue of $30,000. This will be revenue I can project forward, not just one-time income.

3. Deadline

👉 By December 31st, 2025.

4. Obstacles

  • The biggest obstacle is myself. If I lose discipline, I will fail. If I stop being consistent, I will fail.

5. Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Right now, I believe I have the skills to reach $30,000 MRR. But I also know I don’t know everything. I will fail often on the way. The skills I’ll need beyond $30,000 MRR are still unknown.

6. People & Resources

  • I will accomplish this with my fiancée Shea. Together, we will need to work diligently every single day.

7. Benefits & Why This Goal Matters

👉 Achieving this goal will give me:

  • The ability to build a fulfillment team around my business systems, freeing up significant time for marketing and sales.

  • The income to reduce most location-based restrictions so I can live almost anywhere.

  • The financial ability to catch up on things I’ve fallen behind on due to current constraints.

8. Action Plan (Step by Step)

  1. Set non-negotiable daily actions Monday–Saturday and rest on Sundays.

  2. Stay sharp by keeping fitness simple: running, hills, push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups. No gym.

  3. Wake up at the same time every day Monday–Saturday.

  4. Fill out a work form every hour (50 minutes) with a target of 8–10 forms daily.

  5. Redirect negative self-talk immediately.

  6. Never complain that something is too hard, and never quit solely because of difficulty.

  7. Work tirelessly to check off non-negotiable tasks.

  8. Say no to more things. Only attend events on Saturday evenings.

  9. Cut out distractions such as drinking and TV.

  10. Start each morning by reviewing days left, current revenue, and distance to goal.

  11. Stay decisive and pivot quickly if new information or skills demand it.

  12. Cut out all services unrelated to email and SMS marketing.

  13. Keep things simple instead of complex.

  14. Believe in my ability to accomplish this every single day.

  15. Maintain consistency in where I work Monday–Saturday.

  16. Track everything in the business relentlessly.

9. Daily Actions (Three)

👉 To move forward daily, I will:

  1. Publish YouTube videos (5–30 min) and Substack posts about email/SMS marketing for CPG and subscription eCommerce brands.

  2. Create or fix one full SOP or process on the operations side to enable delegation.

  3. Run and manage ads (Meta + inbound funnel) at $25–50+/day.

10. Affirmation

👉 “I am making $30,000 monthly recurring revenue from my email and SMS marketing business by December 31st, 2025 by helping CPG and subscription eCommerce brands grow profitably.”

Immediate Next Steps

Over the next two days (by August 20th, 2025) I will finalize:

  • My newsletter (all links and final touches).

  • My website and calendar so people can book calls.

  • My content calendar for YouTube and Substack.

This is my intentionality commitment. By sticking to it, I believe I will hit $30,000 MRR by the end of this year.
